I literally transferred the mp3s I wanted to hear to the miniSD card and plugged it in. The filenames had to be shortened, and there's a little app Verizon gives you to check and truncate the names if you can't do so already yourself. The files are sorted into genre and artist by id3. That works for me, because I listen to a genre at a time anyway. That said, I have no advice for you on how well the playlist part works.

Re: Is Verizon’s Chocolate Sweet?

Ed Foster has had several columns on how the cell phone companies treat their customers. The most recent one, which happened to concern Verizon is: http://www.gripe2ed.com/sco...

This may not help with making a technological decision, but can help in terms of how the company may treat you should you have any concerns.

My obligatory anecdotal cell phone statement: Sprint BAD

Re: Is Verizon’s Chocolate Sweet?

I believe Verizon disables MP3 playback when updating/upgrading "their" phones for use with the Verizon Music/Vcast service:
http://www.techdirt.com/art...

Re: Is Verizon’s Chocolate Sweet?

Whenever I am in cell phone replacement mode I do research at Howard Forums. Although I didn't check for your question specifically, they are a great source of information.

Here is the Verizon LG phone forum.

http://www.howardforums.com...
