Technology Liberation Front: The Other DMCA Provision

And what if Hollywood thinks to circumvent the DMCA protected TPM of an independent filmmaker in pursuit of a suspected infringement of their own work?

Could DMCA be a double-edged sword?

Roles may once have been highly polarised between filmakers and passive consumers, but it won't always be this way.

    Consider
    Schr¶dinger's Copyright
    for example.

It seems that the DMCA may, at this time, be doing more to protect the interests of Internet content aggregators than copyright holders. While the Safe Harbor provision is working quite well to provide rules of the road for companies like YouTube, the anti-circumvention provision is utterly failing to prevent online piracy. It seems the primary beneficiaries of the anti-circumvention provision are tech companies who use it to protect their closed systems from competition.
