Like Qwest? or my local re-supplier? or long distance phone companies, like Power Net Global?  Or, right now, are just Verizon, BellSouth and AT&amp;T; involved?  I'd sure like to know that answer. But unlikely.  Given that they trust themselves to do the right thing, why would they take this precaution against abuse?  It would only hinder their ability should they want to investigate a number.
