I've been contacted by the Disqus people about the problem I reported here with importing my comments. It's not resolved yet, but they're helping.

Complaining about technology on TLF definitely gets results.

BTW, I sure would like to get the side buttons working on my Microsoft Wireless Explorer mouse inside a Linux guest under Virtual Box. Anybody from Sun paying attention?

Yeah, I can't believe it doesn't have search. I've been using Google
to search just that site and it's coming up with all the right answers.

Am I missing something or does that Disqus help forum not have a search feature? I want to search for a couple of things and can't find a search bar there.

Good question! According to the Disqus support site, they're adding the ability to edit your own comment in the next few days. Looks like something they had rolled out but pulled back for some reason. As for previewing, looks like that's not an option, but the editing should obviate the need.

Well, when it said "done" for me it really was done and everything had imported. Check out their support forum, they seem to be pretty responsive. http://disqus.disqus.com

Did you get any feedback while that was happening? I just get a blank screen that says "done" but none of my 7,000 comments are imported.

Yup, I pressed that button and that's what did it. Took over half an hour to sync the over 12,000 comments here.

What did you guys have to do to get DISQUS to import your existing comments? I installed it on my personal blog and can't make that happen. I surmise that the "export comments to DISQUS" button on the Advanced Options is supposed to do something, but it just gives me a blank page.
