During the LP debate, I was surprised to find myself hoping that Senator Gravel would run for the VP slot, after hearing Root. Unfortunately Barr/Gravel 2008 was not to be. What's important is the direction we Americans are headed. I passionately believe Barr would help move us overall into the right direction after having read his book "The Meaning of Is" (2004). I don't feel this confidence with Root. Root's position on privatizing war in the debate spoke volumes. If Root proves to be a patent troll, again this is not the direction for our country to go. Far from it.

On any other election year, one could simply turn one's back and argue for something better academically. Unfortunately 2008 is a defining moment for America I fear. Given the situation I am hoping that Barr will serve as a good influence on Root. Really I'm hoping that Barr will serve as a good influence on America.

Speaking of academic arguments, Thursday it occurred to me that we could have a separate election for the President of the Senate, strengthening the separation of powers, strengthening the Senate, and saying no to the disturbing example of Dick Cheney. As it is with the 12th Amendment, one elector votes for both offices.

Re: Libertarians for Patent Trolling

Tell us more about Barr-Root, Tim.
