And after doing some research i found that verizon only runs their fiber optic lines from the curb to your house all their other lines from their hub are run with COAX cables.  Comcast runs fiber optic lines from their hub to the curb and than runs the coax cables to your house. And I benefit from it because every time Verizon hooks up a FiOS user it buys a router from my employer. But Verizon only has 1 million FiOS customers, while Comcast has over 12 million.
